About AAFA

  

AAFA Inc. was organized in 1991 and incorporated in 1992 as an Illinois Not for Profit Corporation. As a federally recognized 501 C-3 Organization AAFA Inc. has a rich history of providing youth development and intervention programs in respective “at-risk” and distressed geographical areas. The African American Family Association Inc. has reached over 40,000 Chicago Public School (CPS) students providing classroom character-based education. Furthermore, from 2002 - 2005 AAFA Inc. reached over 5,000 students annually with its character development curriculum “I AM Worth the Wait”. AAFA Inc. is successfully continuing the “I AM Worth the Wait” Program, which is amongst the many other programs that have reached the lives of hundreds of people in the Chicago-land area; powerfully impacting their lives and increasing their life skills.

Our Approach to Combat Violence

Our service includes a comprehensive character-based education model.  We believe in the importance of providing guidance by instilling values that support the best opportunity at a happy, healthy, and productive life
